Come and enjoy an exciting weekend of Lucas Oil Modified Racing at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.
Race Purse: $10,275 plus b main
$2,000 to win. $250 to start a main.
Lucas Oil Modified Series rules and race procedures will apply.
August 6th: test & tune 6-9 pm. friday night cook out after test & tune.
August 7th: 6 lap trophy dash (6 cars)
10 lap b main. two transfers.
50 lap a main. 24 car field.
Pay Out: via check sent by mail.
The first 18 starters in the a main based on qualifying times followed by 2 transfers from the b main and 4 provisionals to complete the 24 car field.
The a main will be a full 50 green flag laps. yellow flag laps will not be counted.
Group qualifying procedures will be used on saturday featuring two 10 minute hot lap groups.
Inverson: fast time qualifier will draw, numbers 3-8, for starting spots.

Tire: hoosier 700
Fuel: sunoco race fuels. note: teams running methanol or e85 fuels
"MUST" report it to tech & track safety crews. neck braces, any manufacturer, are mandatory.
Track scales will be available and will be used in tech procedures.

Gear hints for teams based on a recent modified test session held at the toyota speedway at irwindale:
The first test car used a 463 gear during the test and registered 6600 rpm. that same car, in a recent race at the tuscon raceway park, used a 500 gear and registered 6400 rpm.
The second test car used a 456 gear during the irwindale test and registered 6800 rpm. the same car, in a recent race at the havasu 95 speedway, used a 525 gear and registered 6800 rpm.
The third test car used a 463 gear during the irwindale test and registered 7300 rpm. the same car, during a recent race at the las vegas motor speedway, used a 543 gear and registered 7500 rpm.
IMPORTANT NOTE: while the rules & race procedures from the Lucas Oil Modified Series will apply for this race, this race is a "non points" event that has no bearing on the official Lucas Oil Modified Series championship standings.
Additionally, certain Lucas Oil Modified Racing Series standard polices regarding bonus incentives will not apply to the North-South Shootout. That includes no tow money, no bonus money, no oil give away, no sunoco race fuels winner's flag and no official Lucas Oil Modified Racing Series winner's plaque.
