BAKERSFIELD, California (February 10, 2017) – A steady rain that began about 1 a.m. and continued throughout the day Friday forced officials of the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by RAM Mounts to cancel all activity scheduled for the third annual Spray Nine Winter Showdown presented by RAM Mounts at Kern County Raceway Park.

Both the Spray Nine Winter Showdown and the SRL Southwest Tour Winter Showdown for Super Late Models remain on the schedule for Saturday, weather permitting. Unfortunately, the Spray Nine’s 9-car Race of Champions Sprint scheduled for Friday evening will not be run this weekend because of the schedule changes made necessary by the rain. Forecasts were that the rain would subside about 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (February 11) would be dry.

The revised schedule:

  • 8 a.m. – Pit gates open
  • 9 a.m. – Drivers/Spotters/Crew Chiefs meeting
  • 10:30-11 a.m. – Lucas Oil Modified practice
  • 11 a.m.-noon – Super Late Model practice
  • Noon-12:30 p.m. – Lucas Oil Modified practice
  • 12:30 p.m. – Super Late Model tech inspection opens
  • 3 p.m. – Super Late Model qualifying (single car, 2 laps); Spectator gates open
  • 4 p.m. – Lucas Oil Modified qualifying (single car, 2 laps); Super Late Model Last Chance race
  • 5:30 p.m. – Opening ceremonies
